Have you ever experienced living in a sanctioned country? If your answer is ‘yes’, you’ll definitely approve that none of the international sanctions turns your leaders’ and governors’ behavour on their head. Some developed countries try to put sanctions on other countries as punishments that breach the norms and laws in place within the world. They claim that these punishments prevent the spread of terrorism in the world but they backfire. If you compare the number of sanctions that have been imposed on some countries and the growing terrorist footprint across the world with a few years ago, you will find that these two phenomena are progressing hand in hand- turning the world into an insecure place, not for leaders but for ordinary people. Unsafe and expensive!
One of the reasons that international sanctions are ineffective is that outlaws violate the rules purposefully. On one hand, they intend to expand their realm because they believe that they are the most suitable leaders for the world. This belief derives from a paradigm that has gradually been made in their minds because of some misunderstanding of religious training. On the other hand, they have to support gangs to provide the necessities of their nations because sanctions have forced them to circumvent the rules to reach their demands. Consequently, they will unintentionally become the prominent supporters of the gangs in the world to survive. The more the gangs are supported by governments, the more they expand their influence and attract more members.
Moreover, after a while, society will be forced to accept the beliefs that have been dictated by their governments because every day, they are struggling with the negative effects of sanctions on all aspects of their lives. Then, when they find themselves powerless to remove obstacles, they will become too depressed to change something. A gloomy society has no choice but to accept the current situation as an immutable reality, and this is the best opportunity for some groups to introduce themselves as a hero to people, create a false economic boom, inculcate that the world community does not care about them and their rights as a human. The only outcome of these circumstances is turning the people into angry people, due to feeling of worthlessness, who become newspaper headlines- ‘The Angriest Nations in the World’- and accepting the idea that they should consider countries, that imposed sanctions, as the only cause of their problems.
All of us somehow are pushing the world toward gangs- some countries by imposing sanctions, some of them by circumventing sanctions, and the rest of them by exerting their influence and power. The only way to reform this condition is correcting human thinking and replacing distorted thinking with the right ones. The thought reminds us that we came to this world to experience peace and tranquility. Achieving this goal does not require the formation of a single, global community and lose diversity. Instead, it requires having ambitious leaders, regardless of their religions, to redefine concepts such as life, peace, power, God, Utopia, and Savior in order to change false paradigms about religions and the immutability of our destinations.
